Blah, blah, blah.
Not to ruin it for anyone else, if this is the way you think about New Year’s, but why wait for a new year for a fresh start?
People make resolutions, and when/if they fail, they make the excuse of “I’ll try again next year.” What’s the point in that?
I got a new, cute, little journal for Christmas, and I thought to myself, “I’ll start journalling this new year.” Then I thought, why wait until then to start? Every day, every month, every week, every hour, every minute, every second, is a new start.
If you want to start something new, change/break a habit, etc. why wait? Unless there is some obstacle, out of your control, you can have a “fresh start” anytime you’d like.
I welcome this new year, and am excited to see what it brings, but I’m not going to use New Year’s as an excuse for changing things in my life, or wait for the next new year if I “fail” at these things.
Happy New Year and cheers to new beginnings anytime you want!
